LANGKAWI ART BIENNALE

History was in the making. In the year 2014, Langkawi rose to the occasion with the introduction of a premier art event that aims to make Langkawi a leading international contemporary art destination.

The Langkawi Art Biennale 2014 was well-organised and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture Malaysia. It was not just an idea but it was a huge event that was endorsed by 250 artists and sculptors from 38 countries around the world, which shows how Art is borderless!

Langkawi Art Biennale 2014 was a breakthrough, poised to be a gateway to promote interaction and exchange of artistic experiences among artists and curators internationally in the field of contemporary art and to raise awareness of diverse cultures of the world.

Langkawi Art Biennale encompasses all forms of modern art – paintings, pop art, contemporary art, digital art, plein air, sculpture and art installation. Our program includes art talks, art workshops, art tourism, art conferences and more.

This coming Langkawi Art Biennale 2025 will feature 40 Malaysian participants and 72 International participants.
